Field Phone

Model # 2350

Trench telephones were used in the trenches so that soldiers in different sections along the front could communicate with each other. The fixed and field switchboard was a portable device that could connect to these phone systems. It could be folded up within its wooded carrying case and moved. These systems relied upon the extensive network of wire strung by soldiers; this wire was very vulnerable to shelling and needed constant repair. This model also has two portable line expansion blocks on it used to add more lines of communication if needed.
