PIAT Launcher

Anti-tank weapon

The PIAT was designed and developed in 1941 by the British. As tanks assumed a role of greater importance during WWII, the Allies needed an anti-tank weapon with greater accuracy. The PIAT had a range of approximately 100 meters, was heavy, and had a strong recoil when fired; soldiers fired it lying down.
