Wrong—the Algonquin Regiment was on land!
The HMCS Cobalt was built in Port Arthur in 1940, a Flower-class corvette used during the war as an escort between St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Iceland. The Flower-class corvettes were named after flowers in Britain, but Canada opted to name hers after various small towns. At the end of the war the HMCS Cobalt was converted into a whale catcher and eventually scrapped in the 1960s.
