Following the war, Byron Cooper Sisler stayed involved in the militia and in 1935 joined the Argyll Light Infantry (Tank) in Belleville, Ontario. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 1940 and eventually to Lieutenant Colonel. This medal was awarded to Byron Cooper Sisler in recognition of over 28 years of service in the Canadian active and reserve army.
