This uniform was worn by a soldier in the famous Devil’s Brigade (1st Special Service Force) that was formed in 1942. The brigade was an elite joint U.S-Canadian commando unit that did its training in Montana during WWII. Soldiers were selected for their ability to operate in unconventional operations in rugged terrain. Many were outdoorsmen, such as hunters and lumberjacks. It was the first brigade of its kind and had a great influence on future military practices.
