Answer 4

Correct!

Correct! This map of Caen would have been useful to the Algonquin Regiment after landing at Normandy and moving on from Caen!

This map of Caen is Sheet 7F/1 from the map series France 1:50,000 (Second Edition, 1943). It was originally published by the War Office in 1942.

Caen, France was considered of high strategic importance and the Allies had hoped to take it as part of the invasion of Normandy in June of 1944. After meeting stiff German resistance, Caen remained in German hands until late July of that year. The Algonquin Regiment landed at Normandy on July 25, 1944 and began to fight its way upwards south and east of Caen.
