This flight suit is designed for fighter pilots and helps prevent loss of consciousness during periods of rapid acceleration (g-force). The uniform is outfitted with a g-force-sensitive valve that can pressurize the inflatable bladders on the trousers, restricting the flow of blood away from the brain.
This particular uniform belonged to T.J. O’Shaughnessy, now a Brig Gen in the United States Air Force. He was placed in command of the 57th Wing in 2010, considered to be the most diverse and significant wing of the United States Air Force. He has had considerable experience flying the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
